Today’s crafters are no longer interested in simply cross-stitching samplers or painting floral scrolls on china. Instead, the contemporary craft movement embraces emerging artists, crafters, and designers working in traditional and nontraditional media.
Ok, so maybe not inspiring, but entertaining at least !
Travel Channel host Adam Richman travels around the United States sampling some of America’s best cuisine on Man vs. Food.
I’ve visited the Man v. Food locations below and haven’t been disappointed with the selections. Even if you’re not interested in the particular food challenges (think: spicy hot wings! 2lb burritos!), the local fare is very good and it’s fun to see different parts of the country. But, it’s no surprise Americans are fat and wasteful when you see some of these menus.
St. Louis: Pappy’s Smokehouse, Iron Barley, Crown Candy Kitchen
Memphis: Kooky Canuck (Formerly Big Foot Lodge)
Portland, Ore: Voodoo Donut
Austin: Juan in a Million

The booth is presented in semi-public spaces as a typical photobooth holding no denotation of it’s unique qualities. Users enter the booth, pose for 2 shots & exit as usual. During the developing process, the photos are “analyzed” & customized with forecasts consisting of patterns, symbols & messages.

The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister
The School of Essential Ingredients follows the lives of eight students who gather in Lillian’s Restaurant every Monday night for cooking class. It soon becomes clear, however, that each one seeks a recipe for something beyond the kitchen.
A little premature for this one (may be coming out in November?), but clips are up on Apple’s movie trailer site … so excited to see since it was filmed in St. Louis! (that’s definitely George Clooney in Lambert Airport, above). Also hoping to see my cousin, Karen, as an extra.
